KUALA LUMPUR, May 2 (Bernama) -- Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak said it was a significant moment for Malaysia when the first flight touched down at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport2 (klia2) Friday.
"At 12.05AM today, the first flight touched down in #KLIA2. What a significant moment for Malaysia!," the prime minister said in his Twitter post Friday.
The klia2, the world's largest purpose-built low-cost terminal for low cost carriers officially commenced operations today with the arrival of Malindo Air Flight OD1027 from Kota Kinabalu at 12.05am.
The first aircraft to take off from the airport was a Cebu Pacific Airways flight (Flight 5J502) to Manila; which departed at 3.15 am also today.
