GE13 Highlight: Clash Between Lim Kit Siang – Ghani Othman

GE13 Highlight: Clash Between Lim Kit Siang – Ghani Othman

In a democratic political scene, a good assemblyman should be loved by rakyat at his constituency and he definitely would not favor contesting in other constituencies as it seem like he is neglecting his supporters. Thus, a good assemblyman would stay at a constituency for a while and he would have a lot of time planning and observing the developments over the area.

The proof, Dato’ Seri Najib, Tun Mahathir, and any other politicians loved by rakyat rarely change their constituencies.

This is different with DAP's leader, Lim Kit Siang. Lim Kit Siang really seem to be living DAP's 'change' slogan as he often changes areas to contest.

Since 1969, Lim Kit Siang often changes seats, they include Bandar Melaka (1969–1974), Kota Melaka (1974–1978),  Petaling Jaya (1978–1982),  Kota Melaka (1982–1986),  Tanjong (1986–1999), and lastly, Ipoh Timur in 2004 and now he is going to Gelang Patah. Lets not ask about his contributions over those constituencies, because there are none. The only 'service' he gave rakyat at his constituency would be disunity, racism as well as extreme hate.

Clearly, Lim Kit Siang is not contesting to serve rakyat, he is simply looking a base for him to remain in power. However, the 'change' which he is doing now is seen as something with its own 'significance', to break UMNO's domination as well as the racial unity in Johor, as well a plans to bring the spirit of Singapore's PAP back to life at the state.

With Penang under their control, and if they are lucky, Johor, DAP or to be more exact, PAP, will be able to control Malaysia's two 'main entrances'. We are aware that with the funds provided to DAP from PAP, and we are aware on how Singapore government is helping DAP in various forms including workforce to face the coming GE.

In Gelang Patah, Lim Kit Siang will face Datuk Abd. Ghani Othman. Gelang Patah seat which has racial fraction of Chinese 54%, Malay 34% and Indian 12% which was previously held by MCA has agreed to give it to UMNO. The seatholder, MCA Johor's Women Chief, Tan Ah Eng has gained majority 8,851 votes, far smaller than the majority which was gained back in 2004, 31,666 votes.

Datuk Abd. Ghani previously contested in Ledang seat and his transfer to Gelang Patah is said as BN's strategy to raise the deciding vote, Malay votes from Lim Kit Siang.

Whatever it is, we see that Lim Kit Siang is not just challenging Datuk Abd. Ghani, instead, he is challenging people of Johor as well as the concept of 1Malaysia introduced by Prime Minister. We know that Lim Kit Siang's politics is more of a racial politics. Even though Lim Kit Siang denies this claim, every word that came out from his mouth in most of his ceramah often focuses on the government under the leadership of UMNO (Malay) as being slow, corrupt and lazy, UMNO ignores non-Malays, UMNO's constitution is biased, the Chinese are denied of their rights and other issues which are racist which led to prejudice and hate towards government led by Malays. He even like to raise religious matters as if Malaysia is oppressing other religion.

We are certain that Datuk Abd. Ghani can break all of Kit Siang's lies and hate agendas. And we are more certain that rakyat of Johor, no matter Malay, Chinese or Indian, are mature and they can see the truth in front of their eyes where no race are left behind in the development of this country, the Chinese are even the one in front of everything.
