Sleeping With the Enemy Or Not, Pak Lah Certainly Has waken

I almost missed the controversial book that could have spoilt my Raya mood.  But after some reading and digging, Im happy to announce that Im still in the mood and that the book did not change or mean anything much to us, the Malaysians.

Pak Lah having grudges on Tun Mahathir is not something new.  So is the fact that Bridget Welsh and James Chin being the writers of the book as attacking UMNO has always been their job.

And Nurul Izzah being invited to launch the book is not something to be surprised about either, because it is a well known fact that Pak Lah and his 4th floor team have always have their right feet in PR, while their right feet stay in UMNO as a warranty.

Therefore, this whole controversy about the book is not a controversy at all, but rather a publicity stunt the by the writers and another lame attempt by some quarters to cause a storm in UMNO, and for some others to fulfill their unexplainable needs to keep hitting Tun Mahathir.

Whatever the objective is, UMNO can only be grateful to Allah SWT for yet another lesson, or rather, a revision.   The way I see it, Awakening is meant to awaken UMNO of the enemy within.

How many more lessons does UMNO need in order to see?  The involvement of Singapore, the fact that the writers are in close knit with SUARAM and that PR are being strikingly friendly with Pak Lah and his team, and that they are all against the one man Tun Mahathir, should have triggered any wise UMNO man.

Tun Mahathir had transformed Malaysia from a third world baby country into an economic tiger, honoured and respected by friends and foes.  During his tenure, he only brings goodness and prosperity to the rakyat as well as the region and the world.   Sadly, it is almost natural in the human world for a man so highly loved and respected to have quite as many enemies.

As such, it is for us to decide whether to trust and support his enemies who have nothing to show but their grudges towards him, or to trust and support him, for his devoted service that we can see and enjoy up to this day.

In other words, this is purely the case of the enemies words against Tun Mahathir stunning achievement, devoted services and love towards his country, which, I dont think anybody needs to be a genius to make a stance.

The fact that the enemies chose to attack just as the UMNO General Assembly is approaching is simply interesting, as it could lead the party to an open battlefield.   And an open battlefield should be taken as a chance for UMNO to do the right thing, that is, to choose the right leaders.   For all we see, this, could be UMNOs very last chance.

And so, Pak Lah may or may not play a more important part than the interviewee in the book as he claimed, but he has certainly awakened us all.  Thanks to him, we can now see more clearly where he stands in the party, as well as those defending him in PR as well as in UMNO.

Bottomline is, friends of the enemies are not friends.  May UMNO learn this lesson, once and for all.
