KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 25 (Bernama) - Christian tourists who are
here to celebrate Christmas are excited by the Malaysian way because of the
country's multi-racial and multi-religious population.
Some of the tourists were seen joining Malaysian Christians
for prayers at St John's Church in Bukit Nanas here ariving as early as 8am.
For Meilina Shia, 34, a tourist from Surabaya, the
excitement of Christmas in Malaysia felt just like at home in Indonesia.
"What is unique here is that Christmas is also
celebrated by other ethnic groups in Malaysia," she said.
Natalie Brendan, 33, from Holland said the Christmas
atmosphere here is special as the weather is not cold thus giving the people
the chance to travel.
Anne Jaubert, 62, from France, said she is so excited by the
spirit of harmony shown by the Malaysian people during Christmas.
"Although Malaysia is a Muslim country, I'm surprised
to see people celebrating Christmas together and living in a harmonious
environment."
Christopher Oris, 30, a private college student from Nigeria
said the presence of friends during Christmas made up the absence of family
members.
