KINABATANGAN, Dec 22 (Bernama) -- The 1Malaysia concept
mooted by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak continues to be accepted by
all levels of society through the celebrations of communal diversity in the
state, said Kuamat assemblyman Masiung Banah.
He said the good response was clearly translated through the
high spirit of unity and understanding especially with the advent of two major
festivals in the state, Christmas and Kaamatan.
"The people must be thankful for the peace and
understanding in this country which clearly bring comfort to all levels of
society," he said in his speech when opening the Kinabatangan District
Level Christmas Open House at Dewan Sri Lamag, here, Saturday.
Masiung believed the communities in the rural areas
specifically would continue to give solid support to the government leadership
as the development and aid channelled to them had succeeded in changing their
lives.
